About Us

My name is Lewis Davies and I am the owner of Searchlight Mortgages. I set this company up following over 20 years of corporate life in the financial services industry where I specialised in the mortgage lending business area. My career saw me progress from trainee manager to area manager covering half of the UK.
I have seen many changes in the mortgage market over the years and firmly believe that proper advice is more important in the current climate than it ever has been. Lenders vary and many of them have differing opinions on how current regulation is interpreted, this makes choosing the right provider more difficult than ever not just for the interest rate charged but also for the lender who will be best suited to your circumstances.
Every client interview that we undertake will include a full assessment of your circumstances and a full recommendation on all relevant products and policies. We will explain the recommended mortgage to you in detail and, then, do all the work to submit the application and manage the case through to completion.
We have, at our disposal, technology which will help pinpoint the best deal, lender and insurance provider for your individual circumstances.

Mortgage

There are so many lenders operating in the UK that it can be a minefield to find your way around them all and what they have to offer, this has been further complicated by recent regulation which has meant that lenders need to be more provident in their approach to lending criteria. Re-Mortgage

Your current mortgage deal may have come to an end or you need to raise some capital, maybe even both.
We often hear about the dilemma of whether to move or improve and a capital raising remortgage can be a suitable way to finance your home improvements should you decide to stay where you are and improve your existing property.
Remortgaging can potentially save you money by applying a lower interest rate to your mortgage, this can be done by staying with your current lender or moving to a new one. It is also an excellent opportunity to review your mortgage term and/or your repayment method. Either way it will be worth talking to us where we will, again, thoroughly review your circumstances and current mortgage and insurance products to ensure that you are given the very best advice.
